Cox Elementary is super excited to host our very first family book study.

We are thrilled to be using  the book What Makes People TickED? by Chris “Shoof” Scheufele.  He was a guest speaker at Cox Elementary last year with the support from PTA.

We are looking forward to using some of the powerful strategies from the book to kick off our road to resilience for all of our students.

         ● To be resilient and solve problems, big and small

         ● To teach students how to build strong relationships

         ● To grow skills for life

We can't wait to see YOU!!!

News from PTA

We are excited to share that PTA Memberships for this school year are now open!

Become a PTA member and support Cox Elementary by helping the PTA fund programs, events, teacher appreciation, classroom/grade level grants, school t-shirts, holiday party supplies, assembly speaker, and so much more.

Remember- memberships must be renewed each school year, and while we love to have members willing to volunteer, your $10 membership fee does a WHOLE lot of good without requiring any further commitment

Thank you to the Cox community for your support!

Help Cox Elementary raise money for NEF and our school!!!

During North Texas Giving Day, charitable organizations across the region seek community support for their missions. This year’s North Texas Giving Day, taking place September 21, the Northwest ISD Education Foundation will seek support for its goals that benefit district students and schools.

If donors choose to support NEF directly, funds will go toward teacher grants, student scholarships and special initiatives such as the resource store that provides teachers with free items. Donors also have the option to support a specific school through NEF, which will donate 50% to the school PTA and 50% to NEF initiatives. For more information about the fundraising event, view this webpage.

Members of the Northwest ISD community who are interested in learning about earning their teaching certification are invited to take part in an informational event on Wednesday, October 18. RSVP is required.

The event, part of Northwest ISD’s Grow Our Home program to train those interested in becoming teachers, will last from 5 to 7 p.m. During that time, attendees will hear from district principals, receive resume help, and learn tips/tricks to land a job teaching. The event is open to both those who already have a degree and are looking to add a teaching certification, as well as those who want to earn both a degree and teaching certification.

Please fill out this Google Form to RSVP for the event, which will take place at the district's Legacy Learning Center, located at 501 School House Road in Haslet.

For more information about the program, please email Kim Barker, assistant superintendent for human resources, at kbarker@nisdtx.org.

When Northwest ISD implemented armed security guards at all district elementary schools on September 1 in compliance with state law, it exceeded required training for these positions.

In addition to specific security officer and handgun training required by the state, Northwest ISD also requires all armed security guards to pass FBI background checks, receive district safety and security training and check doors throughout the day. For more information about Northwest ISD’s armed security guard requirements, view this webpage.

Let's Welcome our very own security officer, Keaton!

Visitors at Lunch

We have limited space and the tables are set up outside the cafeteria in the hallway designated for lunch visitors.  Only you and your child will be able eat at the parent/student tables.  No friends allowed.  Lunch guests will need to bring their own lunch.

All visitors will need to check in with the office using their valid driver's license or government issued ID.

When your child's lunch time is over, visitors will need to come directly to the office and check out.   For safety and security reasons, parents cannot follow students to their classroom or the playground.

In order for all parents to have the opportunity to eat lunch with their child, we ask that you limit your lunch visits to 2 times per student per grading period.

There will be some dates that our campus will be closed for lunch visitors due to events or changes in schedules.  These will be communicated through Parent Square and your child's teacher.
