The tardy bell rings at 7:40 am. and staff close the doors to start class. Students need to arrive BEFORE 7:40 am. If a back car rider arrives after the doors are closed, please drive your child to the front entrance of the school and walk them up to the doors to ring the bell so that he/she can come through the office for a Tardy Pass. Thank you!

Starting the week of February 5, we will be kicking off the American Heart Association Kid’s Heart Challenge in conjunction with our jump rope unit. This challenge raises funds for the American Heart Association (not for Cox Elementary).  Students are encouraged to register online (with parent approval and help of course) and complete challenges at home as well as learn about heart health at school.  On Monday and Tuesday, we will be introducing the challenge to our K-5 students.

Students can earn prizes, some of which are instant and will be handed out in PE, and some of which will be shipped to the school after the challenge.  Students are not required to fund raise and we will celebrate our successes in both the Kids Heart Challenge and our jump rope skills on February 22 and 23 in our PE classes.  We will not be accepting any cash donations! All donations should be entered through the website or the app.

To register, please go to http://www2.heart.org/site/TR?fr_id=9733&pg=company&company_id=441133 or download the Kids Heart Challenge App!

If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Breckley or Coach Jeffrey.

Visitors at Lunch

We have limited space and the tables are set up outside the cafeteria in the hallway designated for lunch visitors.  Only you and your child will be able eat at the parent/student tables.  No friends allowed.  Lunch guests will need to bring their own lunch.

All visitors will need to check in with the office using their valid driver's license or government issued ID.

When your child's lunch time is over, visitors will need to come directly to the office and check out.   For safety and security reasons, parents cannot follow students to their classroom or the playground.

In order for all parents to have the opportunity to eat lunch with their child, we ask that you limit your lunch visits to 2 times per student per grading period.

There will be some dates that our campus will be closed for lunch visitors due to events or changes in schedules.  These will be communicated through Parent Square and your child's teacher.
