The librarian is knowledgeable about learning differences and ethnically and culturally diverse interests of the school and local community and develops a school library program that responds to these unique community.
The librarian develops a school library program that offers students, faculty and staff, families, partners, and community constituent's opportunities for participation and collaboration in the library and educational community. The librarian promotes/encourages broad school and community-based advocacy for the school library program to support student success.
The Haslet Public library is a major supporter of learning in our community. It offers many programs for both youth and adult learners.

The Haslet library has a summer program open to all youth. Summer event calendars come out in early May. Librarians from the Haslet library visit each elementary, middle, and high school during the month of May to promote their summer reading program.
My first grade team wrote a grant this year to the Northwest Education Foundation for diverse books. Following the #weneeddiversebooks trend we felt this was a powerful way to expand our classroom libraries. In cooperation with our Art class, each grade level created a Diversity board to represent who we are as diverse learners in our school.
