Engagement and Involvement

Follow the links below to find out more about Engagement and Involvement in Health Services Research.

Patients, carers, and the public are essential to the work of the NIHR and one of our key organisational goals. There are several ways researchers can get support with patient, carer and public involvement in research.

Got a research idea and not sure how to turn it into a funding application? Talk to our Research Design Service (RDS).

The CRN also provides a vast range of national and local resources and activities that support health and care organisations, staff, and patients and service users to be research active.

INVOLVE defines public involvement in research as research being carried out ‘with’ or ‘by’ members of the public rather than ‘to’, ‘about’ or ‘for’ them.

We are here to help patients find out about health and social care research that is taking place across the UK.

There are many ways that you can help the NIHR by getting involved in its research and other activities.
