The ELSA Study: Early Surveillance for Autoimmune diabetes 


Early detection of T1D from the general population will allow insulin treatment to be started sooner, avoid T1D being diagnosed as an emergency, improve glycaemic control, and will identify children who can be offered novel clinical trials of therapies for T1D prevention.

Please note - When using the monthly searches, practices will need to screen for patients previously contacted through the original mailout and for any patients who appear on two consecutive monthly searches depending on when the date of birth falls.
