What are research codes and why should we use them?

Research Codes are a great way to evidence patient involvement in studies within their Electronic Health Record (EHR). This short video considers aspects of coding such as:

• Where we can access codes in GP Clinical Systems

• How we could use them to evidence activity against a particular study

• How we can use codes to drive HI processes to identify patients and invite them appropriatley

This document introduces the use of Research Codes in Primary Care, including the background behind their creation, as well as the scenarios within which Research Codes add value.
