Terms of Reference 

Role of the Group 

The role of the Clinical Research Network South West Peninsula (CRN SWP) Funding model review group is to make recommendations to the CRN SWP Executive Group on the local funding model reporting to the Clinical Leadership and Operational Management Groups. Where appropriate the NIHR National Coordinating Centre will be notified of the outputs of this groups work by the LCRN CD or COO. 

Membership of the Group 

Membership is the Chief Operating Officer (Chair), Senior RDM,RDM Cluster 5, Host Trust management accountant, representatives of stakeholders to include, GP, R&D Manager, Lead Research Nurse/Practitioner, and Speciality Lead. 

Terms of reference 

The Group will make recommendations to the CRN Executive in relation to the future regional funding model by: 

• Advising on the clinical implications of potential models on regional delivery 

• Considering the balance of funding across the LCRN portfolio specialties and sites 

• Providing other research management and clinical intelligence and advice that will inform the model 

• Stakeholder representatives attend the group on behalf of the region, not their employing organisation. 

Meeting administration 

• Administrative support for this group will be provided by CRN SWP 

• The agenda will be set by the Chair in consultation with group members 

• Agenda and papers will be circulated five working days in advance of the meeting.

• Meetings will be held according to budgeting/funding deadlines

• Meetings will be held virtually but will also be required Face to Face on occasion
