Archana works in the field of interaction design. She has a keen interest in food, art, culture and heritage design.
In this session, she will talk about her experiments in interaction design connecting humans with spaces, art and crafts, culture, nature and poetry. She will also talk about the exhibition ‘Sniffing out the differences’, designed by her along with a group of designers. The exhibition is based on the sense of smell and narrates different interesting stories.
Along with interactive experiences in art and design, she will also share her insights about logo designing.
Srishti is a contemporary jewelry designer. She is the founder/ owner of Foundree, a contemporary jewelry studio based in Bombay. It started as a stint to explore creative possibilities using 3d printing which soon turned into a crazy obsession.
The presentation will talk about the journey of the product development and creation of the brand. The idea for the brand is to develop a new craft method, one that works in hand with technology. Technology brings with it the much needed ethical ways of production. It also allows for handcrafting things differently. Designing this system and exploring with 3d printed materials has been a highlight for the brand.
Nivedita is a food innovator whose inspiration comes from her garden. She, along with her husband architected the trailblazing idea of making spreads from homegrown dates. What started as a simple "material exploration from their garden" has now become a serious food business.
Nivedita practice design for 10 years in the UAE and later got into the food business. She owns Sweet Connection which is a certified Gluten-free kitchen where various healthy, award-winning products such as - Date Spreads, Date Seed Coffee Alternative, Seed Crackers, and Fresh bakes are produced and sold under the brand name, "Chilly Date - Love Spreads. Chilly Date caters to people of all age groups and ethnicities; with severe intolerances and allergies to certain foods.
"What we believe is that anyone and everyone who is hungry for food should be able to eat what we sell". Nivedita desires to grow her business of healthy food across the world.
Vikas Sethi is an independent designer working globally to create CMF concepts for a variety of industries. He has built his specialization extensively around material innovation, CMF & trend forecasting.
“We cannot solve all the problems in the world but as designers we can bring in a positive dialogue to the conversation”. Climate change has become a globally affecting phenomenon today, with works in sustainable design he wants to generate empathy towards the environment we live in.
Today he would take us through his own world of bio-materials by showcasing immense possibilities and potential that this material holds. Following an iterative process the material explored unravels a variety of possibilities and applications which have the potential to even replace single use plastic and paper.
