Simran Bahmania (M.Des. LAD 2019) participated in CaratLane Design Incubator (CDI) challenge 2020, supporting ‘design-prenuers’ and bringing individual talent into the industry. The program declared Simran, the winner in the category of jewellery design - SHAYA 2020. She got an opportunity to practice in the program for the year 2021-22.
Pankaj Turkar (M.Des. The program declared Sarthak as a winner in the category in FAB DESIGN 2020.The product “well designed versatile room divider integrating a well for plants.The use of a cane as a sustainable material in keeping with the Feb India design ethos.
Parul Gupta (M.Des. LAD 2019) and Sunandita Sahoo(M.Des. LAD 2019) participated in the annual international student academic project "battle of projects" competition organised by ADI, (Association of designers of India) 2021. Organize a workshop on “ FUSION 360 a Digital modelling workshop in collaboration with Autodesk in NID PG campus Gandhinagar as part of Academic learning June 2020 (8 classes in 30 days ). The team involved in the workshop are Lad batch 2016, Lad batch 2017, Lad batch 2018, Lad batch 2019 and Fusion 360, Autodesk team, with the guidance of Nikhil S.(students team representative) and Amresh Panigrahi (Course Lead LAD ).
Building Department culture: Initiated an open call for expert presentation with the initiative of knowledge exchange with LAD alumni initiated throughout the year 2020-2021. The core objective of the online Meeting and production was to bring a common platform for LAD students, alumni and faculty for exchanging ideas, sharing experiences, reconnecting and networking, and brainstorming on ways to take LAD to the next level. “ Craft Future Lab, ICIC ” conducted a system design experimentation with 16 Mdes students of Lifestyle accessory design 2018 to understand the service design opportunity and solution in the Rural craft sector of India. Lad workshop Initiative :
Team of LAD staff led by Kamlesh Chauhan took the initiative to revamp the old furniture (around 40 canvas chairs) to make it relevant for the present day uses under the guidance of Dr.jignesh Khakhar Dean Pg campus .
The team involved in support by stitching 50 fabric books for the NID press.The staff involved for book stitching are Mr. Kamlesh Chauhan ,Mr. Bharat Vinzuda and Ms. Rajeshree Jansari.

DESIS network worldwide Assembly on Covid19 in Italy: Mr Amresh Panigrahi, Associate senior designer, course lead, Lifestyle Accessory Design, NID Gandhinagar represented as a coordinator, NID DESIS lab and involved in presenting NIDs Design-driven contribution for supporting the worldwide pandemic during covid19 in India. The discussion also focused on the future Design project where the DESIS labs from other countries can be a potential collaborator. NID DESIS lab also got a chance to present case studies of NID students initiative, Faculty initiative, and NID DESIS Lab initiative during COVID 19 pandemic. Organize a “ Mask project - for Combating Covid19” online workshop with 16 Mdes students from batch 2018 and 2019, from Lifestyle accessory design in collaboration with industry experts, medical garment manufacturer and NID Faculty at NID PG campus Gandhinagar. The online ten days Discussion /exchange workshop was to come up with a mask, which can be a solution of Do it Yourself and stitched mask for a new normal behaviour for Indians post covid19 lockdown in India. The project Duration was: 20th April to 30 th April 2019 (2 weeks).
