Summer & Fall CCCAPPLY Application Available on February 16th!
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid):
FAFSA is for U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and certain eligible non-citizens. By completing the FAFSA, students can qualify for federal financial aid, such as grants, loans, and work-study programs, as well as state and institutional aid. If you’re a U.S. citizen or have legal immigration status, FAFSA is the right application for you.
CADAA (California Dream Act Application):
CADAA is for undocumented students, including those with DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) or TPS (Temporary Protected Status), and nonresident students who meet the AB 540 requirements. By completing the CADAA, students can access California state financial aid, like Cal Grants, institutional aid, and some private scholarships. If you’re undocumented or don’t qualify for FAFSA, CADAA is your path to financial aid.
How to Decide:
- If you are a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible non-citizen → Apply for FAFSA.
- If you are undocumented, have DACA, or meet AB 540 criteria → Apply for CADAA.
Important: You only need to complete one application—either FAFSA or CADAA—not both. Submitting the correct application will ensure you get the financial aid you’re eligible for.
