Teachers and pupils are encouraged to explore the many different AI tools available when and where possible. A curious, critical approach to AI is essential as we navigate this rapidly growing area of technology. We must always emphasise that academic honesty is paramount.
We are now in our 5th year of using Google Classroom. Teachers and pupils who have been here since its launch are familiar with its main features and use it effectively.
We encourage teachers to organise work - classwork and prep - with clear topics and titles. Pupils have a 'to do list' and work set as an 'assignment' automatically appears here.
We encourage teachers and pupils to try new features when and where possible.
Google offer free online courses which can be completed at a learner's own pace, with progress recorded and optional assessments at the end to test learning. You can even print off a certificate if you wish (which could certainly be handy evidence of continued professional development!).
Teacher are encouraged to develop their use of EdTech when and where possible. Pupils will then be able to learn in new, innovative ways. Trying at least one new EdTech tool each Academic year would be an excellent way to help achieve this goal.
'Transformational' means:
MODIFICATION: Technology allows for significant task redesign
and/or
REDEFINITION: Technology allows for the creation of new tasks, previously inconceivable
When using any form of Edtech or other digital software, students must
demonstrate academic honesty
and this is to be emphasised regularly and explicitly.
