Welcome to School Health!

My name is Tammy Frieberg. (The students call me Nurse Tammy!) I am a Registered Nurse and Public Health Nurse for the New Hanover County Health Department. It is my privilege and honor to serve you, our students and families of Eaton Elementary. I have been a pediatric nurse for over 25 years and a school nurse for 15 years (mostly in Vermont where I am originally from.) I look forward to getting to know all the children at Eaton Elementary, helping them to learn and grow, and fostering an interest and ability to make healthy and safe lifestyle choices.

Our mission at the Health Department is to assure a safe and healthy community. The shared values include Professionalism, Integrity, Innovation, Stewardship and Safety. These same principles guide my work as a nurse at Eaton Elementary School. I will work diligently to provide a safe and healthy community for your children in a professional manner treating each of your children with respect as unique individuals with unique health care needs.

School health does not begin and end at school, it encompasses the health and well-being of the entire family. That health and well-being hopefully extends to you at home. Starting a school year in unprecedented times with CoVid19 makes this a critical goal and my top priority.
