Covid 19

Covid 19 is still a concern in our community. We follow all guidelines directed by our local and state health department ( StrongSchoolsNC) as well as CDC recommendations including wearing masks and frequent hand washing. All families are expected to help keep our school safe by

  • making sure students wear a properly fitting mask daily ( covering their nose and mouth) and

  • staying home if they are sick or have been exposed to Covid-19.

If a child is kept home for illness, either a physician's note clearing their return or a negative Covid test MUST be presented to the school. (Alternately, as student may stay home a full 5 days assuming the illness was Covid-19 without having to present a physician's note or negative Covid test to return. Additionally, they would need to wear a mask without breaks at recess/ PE for the following 5days). A number of free testing resources are available locally ( see below). Notes can be faxed to School Nurse Tammy at 910-530-6281 or emailed: tammy.frieberg@nhcs.net .

PLEASE NOTIFY NURSE TAMMY ASAP if your child is home ILL or has been diagnosed with Covid-19.
