I am so excited to be your student’s 4th grade teacher! I am Ms. Hawkins and this is my fifth year teaching 4th grade. I am passionate about creating a classroom where students feel supported, challenged, and excited to learn.

I was born and raised in Wilmington, so I feel grateful to teach in the same district where I went to school. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from UNCW and I graduated last year with my master’s degree in Elementary Education Literacy from Coastal Carolina University. I love continuing to grow as an educator and using what I learn to help my students become confident and successful learners.

Outside of the classroom, I love to travel, spend time at the beach, watch/attend sporting events, and make memories with my friends and family.

I am so excited to be a part of your child’s learning journey! My goal is not only to help students grow academically, but also to prepare them with skills they can carry with them throughout life. One of the most important skills we will foster in fourth grade is independence. I want my students to become confident problem-solvers, take ownership of their learning, and believe in their ability to overcome challenges. I look forward to helping each student learn and grow this year!
