Week of May 11-15

Music Listening: Don't forget to give the Music Listening page a listen this week.

Now watch this video for help in navigating the Music Play Online website. I will walk you through how to get to each activity and how to go between the activities.

Two weeks ago you did Sol-Mi practice on this website, now we will be adding La to the mix! Make sure to click the gray tab that says "La-So-Mi" next to "So-Mi" to get the correct echo patterns! See the video above for help in finding these.

Now you are going to get to speak and clap after these rhythms, and once you get that, play them! You will be doing the second and third gray tabs. See the video above for help in finding these.

Now here are some hand sign practices. Start with So-Mi, which is the gray tab next to "Tone Ladders & Handsigns" and do all three. Once you've done those successfully, click the next tab, La-So-Mi, and do all three of those. Do it a few times to get good practice of those handsigns! See the video above for help in finding these.

Week of May 4- May 8

Music Listening: Don't forget to give the Music Listening page a listen this week. There is a beautiful piece from the broadway musical Candide linked on that page, go there to find out the secret question you need to answer after listening.

Watch this video that I made of how to write your very own song using Song Maker on Chrome Music Lab! Make sure to watch the entire video so you know exactly what you need to do. Don't forget to save it at the end and send me a link to your song! There just might be a surprise in it for those who send me a link of their original song!

Go to this website to make your own musical creation!

Please take a few minutes to fill out this Google form after you've completed the music activities for the week!

Week of April 27-May 1

Repeat after the singer in these videos to practice Sol-Mi Singing patterns! There are three different exercises, listed under Echo Sing, labeled 1, 2, and 3. Do all three and keep repeating after the singer to practice! Each video is about 1 minute and 30 seconds long.

Another folk song from Claudia and Dan Zanes! This time, there is an instrument that comes into the song...what instrument is Claudia playing?

Music Listening: Don't forget to give the Music Listening page a listen this week. It is Jazz Appreciation month so I've included a jazz piece, let me know what you think of it! akorenchan@nfv.k12.ia.us

Take note of the way they are organized on the stage! We have studied wood winds, and the different instruments in each family, now try to picture them actually in action!

Keep working on completing this BINGO sheet! There are a lot of fun activities and websites to check out...and don't forget, there is a prize for everyone who completes the whole sheet!
