The learners are loving their current PHE units and it is great to see some of the MYP assessments in Year 7 and 8 taking shape. 7B, 7P, 8G, 8R, 9P and 9W are all taking part in Track and Field units, and it’s been great to see them motivated to be successful in a variety of events and encourage each other along the way.
Friday 16th September will be the end of the first unit and the learners will move on to their next activities, details of which activity they will be doing next can be found here
Our Sports and Exercise Health Scientists have had a busy start to the year too. In Standard Level Year 12 have been further developing their anatomical knowledge in regards to the bones and muscles of the human body, in preparation to apply these to biomechanical sporting situations in Term 2. Those learners in Higher Level have complimented that work by also exploring the different parts of the brain and communication between both systems.
REMINDERS
ALL Secondary learners should arrive at school wearing their normal school uniform EVERY DAY of the week, even if they have PHE at 8:35am. This avoids any possibility for them forgetting their normal uniform to get changed into after their PHE lesson.
Many PHE lessons are outside and we encourage all learners to wear sunscreen and a hat to protect themselves from the sun.
Don’t forget to be prepared with enough clean Nexus PE uniform for your PHE lessons and CCAs. More uniform can be purchased here.
Have a brilliant weekend,
Katy Martin
