On Friday the 19th of January the Year 13s embarked on the Amazing Race around Singapore after completing their mock exams. In teams, armed with just their minds and an EZ-link card they followed a series of clues and challenges in order to reach the final destination of Changi Beach! The race began with a quick trivia challenge at school where the students were given three statements about a teacher and they had to guess which one was a lie.
The other challenges included eating Durian and downing 1 litre of “100 plus”. There were many casualties along the way and one year thirteen briefly went to Changi Prison, however by the end of the day all managed to meet for a picnic at Changi Beach and one final challenge to determine the winners, in which the teams laid out all of their belongings.

With over 80 participants signed up from the Nexus community, the enthusiasm and support for the Run for Hope was clear to see. Learners of all ages from Primary and Secondary, along with parents and staff, saw an early start on Sunday 21st January as they turned up to support and run in this annual event. With some taking part in the 3.5km and some the 10km race, we were lucky that the rain held off! There was a great deal of determination and endurance evident as everyone pushed themselves to complete the course. A fun morning for a good cause! Well done to all those who took part.
