Inaugural Ski/Snowboard Trip a Huge Success - 19 Nexus Learners Thrive in Swiss Alps at Verbier, Switzerland.

19 Learners had the opportunity of a lifetime when Nexus took to the Swiss Alps in Verbier, Switzerland. For many it was their first time skiing or snowboarding, and for a few it was their first time seeing snow!

We had a fantastic 6 full days of lessons and skill development with the brilliant instructors from Les Elfes. The fun didn't stop there though! After a full day on the slopes, we arrived back to afternoon tea followed by fun activities which then continued after dinner! The final day accumulated in a race for all levels, where all of our nexus learners shone and came away with many medals! On the way to the airport we had a great educational stop at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.

Full of swiss chocolate and pride at their personal accomplishments on the snow, we returned to Singapore and have already started to count down to next years trip!

Nexus SNAG (Singapore National Age Group) Swimming Success

What a great way to finish a long Singapore National Age Group Championships (SNAG) 2019. We had amazing swimming from all of our participants achieving personal best times in most event. Also, witnessing our swimmers in the 'A' and 'Super' Finals racing against the best in Asia was a thrilling experience for the swimmers involved and out Nexus community.

Fantastic effort by our girls freestyle relay crew who fought very hard to secure 5th place. It was great to see our less experienced swimmers stepping up, we are very proud of you! Absolutely awesome swimming by our long distance swimmers Gus, Mickey and Jack who finished in top 5 in their age category also. Congratulations to Carmen who set a New National Record in the 50 Backstroke.

Overall, we managed to rank our team in the top division with 5 GOLD Medals.

Nexus 11&U Cricketers Come Close With The Bat.

Since our last update, the Nexus Blue squad have had two more games against SJI International at home. While they didn’t quite take the games they learned a lot along the way and continue to come on in their division. It was great to see our experienced team members take those teammates that are new to the game of Indoor Cricket under their wing and show them the boundary ropes, as their skills and understanding of the game continue to develop. Good luck to Blue squad for their fixtures next week...and the rest of the entire squad in the remaining weeks of the season.

Nexus Netball Goes From Strength To Strength!

After the break our 11&U Netball team came out fighting with two strong wins against SJI and CIS, to add to the two more wins they had before the break! This has now resulted in them being promoted to ACSIS Division 1, giving them a top 7 finish out of over 30 teams entered! This is a fantastic achievement for our younger learners, with us being such a small school, and a great reward for all their hard work. Our ACSIS Division 4 team are back in action this week and look to build on their tally of wins leading up to the finals festival next Saturday! Having two strong teams and with one now having promotion to ACSIS Division 1, its a real sign that netball at Nexus is going from strength to strength!

Nexus Host First 8&U Football Festival After the Holiday Break

On the 16th of April we hosted a small tournament for ACSIS 8&U football. There were three other international schools from the city and we were looking forward for the 5 matches. Our teams started very well and we scored 2 goals against ICS right in a few minutes of our first match. Unfortunately, a storm stopped our efforts and we had to take an unwanted break. After 30 minutes we returned on the field and continued to play our best matches ever. One of our teams scored 8 goals! We are looking forward to the last tournament that will be at GESS on the 30th of April.
