Last month our Secondary guitarists formed our very first ever concert in the NEXUS auditorium. It was wonderful to be able to invite parents back on campus and provide live music for all to enjoy. The concert comprised of soloists and ended with the Secondary guitar group led by our resident guitar tutor Mr Hiro.
The concert was video'd so that everyone can share with their family and friend. The link to the video can be found here.
As part of the IBDP CAS, Y12 musicians decided to organise a live concert in aid of the Children's Cancer foundation. I am pleased to announce that the boys who directed the gig Brandon, Danny, Jack, Marcus, Nate, Alvin and Ollie raised over 2,000$!!! This is an incredible achievement.
For those of you that missed the live gig we recorded it and have compiled this lovely video for you to share with family and friends.
Very exciting to have the Secondary Choir plus vocal soloists from across the school, including 3 from Primary. I have to admit I got the nerves sometimes as this is our first real live choir concert for 2.5 years!
We have battled through having to sing with masks on, our choir limited to 20 learners only, another singing ban, lockdown again, singing 3 metres apart and finally last all restrictions lifted. It felt wonderful to be mask less and singing our hearts out to our family and friends in the audience.
It was a wonderful evening bursting with talent combining traditional nursery rhymes such as 'This Old Man' to Disney classics, traditional French songs and much much more. Thank you to our wonderful tech team who helped us sound amazing and put together a video for us to share with our NEXUS community.

"Something is rotten in the state of Denmark...", this week, in keeping with the performance focus of the 4th term, year 10 IGCSE learners have begun their exploration of Tom Stoppard's Rosenkrantz and Guildenstern are Dead; an absurdist tragicomedy following the fate of two minor characters from William Shakespeare's Hamlet. In the play, the titular characters consider the meaning of life, their identities and the ideas of fate versus choice in episodes punctuated by farcical games. Year 10 learners will be working towards group performance realisations of extracts from the play by the end of the term.
