The main Events calendar on the front page has all the school events in it but here are some important ones for this semester:
As a part of their Year 6 RISE challenge, last term some of our Year 6 learners asked for your ideas to celebrate our move to our new school. The most popular idea, was to have a whole school lunch to celebrate the rich and diverse community at our new school. They have asked our fantastic NPG for their help in coordinating this event.
The lunch will be held on Friday, 31 January and we have over one hundred parents supporting us on 22 different stalls, representing nearly 35 countries and cultures for our learners to enjoy. If you would like to help out and have not already come forward, please contact Helle Willumsen of our awesome NPG (npg@nexus.edu.sg) to see how you can get involved.
We will make sure that all Primary learners will have some food to enjoy. Therefore, we suggest that your child does not need to bring packed lunches to school. If your child usually has a pre-paid school meal, you may want to contact Victus to cancel your booking. If your child is a little more selective when choosing food you may still want to provide some food for them as an alternative.
Please note, all Primary learners should bring their snacks as usual.
Secondary learners will be invited to visit the stalls during their usual lunch time. The Victus Level 5 Cafeteria and Eco Cafe will be open as usual.
If guidance from the Singapore Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation with regards to large group gatherings based on the Novel Coronavirus changes in the next few days we will inform the community of the updated arrangements.
It's that time again when we all get to dust off our running shoes and take part in the Run For Hope to raise money to fight cancer. We are delighted to report that the event is back in Marina Bay this year which provides a spectacular backdrop.
NEXUS DISCOUNT CODE
We have a group discount for the Run For Hope 2020, so you can sign up via this link using the code GPNEXUSINT if you plan to take part. This will allow for race packs to be collected and gathered at school for your collection.

Our learners from Year 10 to Year 13 have a fantastic opportunity to participate in a research expedition to Fiji next summer. Operation Wallacea, an international organisation which specialises in conservation research projects, is offering learners the chance to work alongside academic researchers on a project aimed at creating the first large national park in Fiji. This adventure will see learners collecting data on the flora and fauna of the forests, completing a PADI open water diving course, carrying out coral reef surveys and enjoying a homestay in a local Fijian village to learn about the culture.
The expedition will take place from 14th-27th June 2020, with a day or two of travel either side to be confirmed. We still have a few places left for those who would like to sign up!
Learners who are interested should speak with Ms Nicola for more details.
