CCAs
CCA Season 2 resumed this week and will run until 14 Feb. Learners should continue with the CCAs that they were in before school closed for the December break.
Learners with after school CCAs may be picked up from the Level 2 Eco Cafe. Later school buses (paid service) will be provided during the main CCA seasons. However, the complimentary bus to Ulu Pandan will be available throughout the term. Please note that you must sign up to either of these services in order to be able to take these buses. To do so, please contact BT&Tan directly.
Learners who are unable to attend their CCA should inform their CCA teacher as well as email Learner Services.
Influenza is a respiratory illness which is highly contagious. It is a serious condition because the infection, at times, can lead to complications.
Influenza A is a strain of Influenza virus and is a contagious disease caused by droplet infection. An infected person can spread the virus by coughing, sneezing or being near susceptible people. The incubation period for Influenza viruses is usually 1 - 4 days after infection. The most common symptoms include:
· Fever
· Headache and Muscle Aches
· Tiredness
· Cough, Sore Throat and Runny Nose
· Nausea and Vomiting
We have recently been informed of three confirmed cases in Years 3 to 6. In the event your child should develop symptoms of Influenza, please seek early medical assessment and keep your child at home until declared medically fit to return to school by your family doctor.
At school we regularly promote good respiratory etiquette of covering the mouth and nose with tissues whilst sneezing and coughing, and effective hand washing with soap and water. In order to limit spread of infection within the school community and other members of your family, we ask you to reinforce these simple but effective practices at home.
If you have any queries about Influenza infections, please contact the School Nurses or your family doctor.
