It has been a busy and enjoyable start to the new school year.

Straight to it! How good was the Year 5 Play this week! This is why we love Nexus, what an incredible way to interpret the learners’ PYP UOIs to turn their knowledge growth into a mini-musical, written (mostly through learner input), produced, rehearsed and performed within five weeks of the new school year. Wonderful messages too. Well done to all learners, Mr Beach and his team!

Nexus Parent Group Inaugural Flea Market: A huge success!

The Bus Bay was indeed transformed and a great day was had by all!

The inaugural NPG Flea Market was hosted on Saturday, 31 August. It involved 20 stalls, a true street market atmosphere. F&B provided by the NPG, 200 attendees and plenty of banter.

Stall offerings included toys, clothing, handmade jewellery, sports equipment and other wares. There were plenty of great deals and unusual finds. We are proud of another fully NPG-organised and highly successful event offering an opportunity for parents to meet and while away a few hours on a sunny Saturday afternoon. We will definitely build on this event and make it a tradition.

Be afraid! Be VERY afraid… because it’s time to get your ghoul on mums and dads, as the Nexus Halloween Disco is upon us! Join our wild and wacky afternoon of fun-filled activities that includes everything from best-dressed awards to a great dance party in the auditorium – with a very frightful secondary school learner acting as DJ. Please remember to keep costumes in the not-too-scary department so our little ones aren’t too spooked-out. Parent payback may backfire into nightmares! Looking forward to another hair-raising Halloween Disco! More information to follow.

About the Nexus Parent Group:

One of our School’s unique pillars is what many parents and staff describe as a special community spirit.

The NPG serves two purposes within our community. Firstly, to provide parents with a platform through which to start conversations and provide feedback to the School – to be “a voice of the School community”. Secondly, to offer a range of great social, cultural and special interest events. We welcome all volunteers to join our vibrant and diverse committee, with the main aim of maintaining an inclusive NPG where all ideas are considered valuable.
