Part of our Wellbeing programme includes discussion and the development of a career plan for our learners. When we talked to learners about this, they wanted to speak directly to professionals in their field about their jobs, how they spend their time in their workplace, opportunities for growth within the organisation, etc. Where better than to ask our own parent community to come in and talk about their careers! The idea of an Expo came from the learners and the event itself is being driven by the learners.
We have about 20 presenters, from scientists to bakers, physiotherapists, and accountancy, theatre, diplomacy, design and technology and more for our inaugural event. The Expo is for our secondary learners only. It has been designed with them, and for them. And the learners have all contributed to the questions they want to have answered.
We are very grateful to all those parents who are giving of their valuable time to support us next week.

Year 9 and Year 11 learners and their parents/guardians are cordially invited to an information evening on 5th December. Choosing the right IGCSE and IB options might seem like a daunting process so we are here to help! Specialist subject teachers will be on hand to discuss the various programmes, assessment modes and supporting material. Learners have already had some information in their classes in order to prepare them for the options process. During Term 3 learners will be asked to select their options in order that we can construct the 2019-20 timetable.
A separate email will be sent to parents and guardians of Year 9 and Year 11 learners next week.
