The year 12 learners showed great commitment, perseverance and dedication whilst on their recent CAS expedition to Cambodia. They were very moved and thoughtful whilst learning about the history of Cambodia, visiting some of the sites in and around Phnom Penh. They also experienced an atmospheric evening at the National Stadium, taking part in some of the numerous activities which happen each evening, including Zumba!
At the service site in the village of Kong Maha, our learners immersed themselves into Cambodian life, staying in homestays and at a local base house, integrating with the community and learning even more about the Cambodian culture and its people. Projects at the school included building a path at the entrance and planting shrubs along it, painting a mural, creating a rope swing and working with the children doing craft activities. The funds for all of these projects were raised through the ‘Quality Education’ global goals fundraiser earlier in the year.
Well done to all our learners for making such a positive impact on each other and the Kong Maha village.
