Congratulations to the Year 7 learners who have just completed their very first MYP Physical and Health Education units - Space Invaders, Gym-Tastic! and #Smooth_Swimming. It was great to see your effort and enthusiasm, keep it up!
Here's a photo of some of our performers in their Gym-Tastic! unit. Well done!
Mrs. Katy Martin, Secondary Physical and Health Education Learning Area Leader
This term, learners discovered interior design styles, floor planning techniques and adaptable furniture 3D modelling, both digital and physical (with the use of origami).
They explored the global context "Fairness and Development", looking at how designers can create safe and affordable housing for families from disadvantaged backgrounds. Next term, their digital designs will come to life in a physical 3D environment. To support us in this activity, please send any used Redmart boxes to Ms Pat in the Design class.

In spite of the COVID-19 restrictions, learners still managed to have a good time while learning design thinking skills and craftwork. The mindsets of the Year 7 designers are positive, collaborative, and focused on self-growth. Here are a few examples of our Nexus innovators in action with some more hands-on tasks. Thank you, Mr Ed, for the nice photographs!
