We have continued connecting our adventures to different story books. We ate porridge, tested beds and chairs in Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. We made popcorn snacks using the parachute at the end of The Tortoise and the Hare race. We also got to feed the dinosaurs on our Dinosaur Dig. All while developing and extending our fundamental movement skills.

Years 1 and 2
In swimming, the advanced group have been working on refining their stroke techniques in front crawl and backstroke. This was accomplished through streamlining drills and coordination drills. The intermediate group worked on their basic skills which included streamlining and front crawl arm action with breathing. The focus was to get them to be independent and confident as soon as possible.
Years 3-6
In aquatic base lessons, learners have been working on tumble and open turns this month. This was a fun and entertaining activity involving a large number of exercises in the water. Learners were encouraged to apply these advanced skills during each lesson. Some learners found it a big challenge and they had to practise variations of turning drills in order to master the turning techniques. During these lessons, learners have had the opportunity to develop their coordination and water confidence.
