Dear Parents and Caregivers
Welcome back to our second term of the year. I hope you all had the opportunity to relax and reconnect during the break.
My heartfelt thanks to all the learners, parents and staff involved in helping us celebrate Deepavali a long with our Hindu families last week. It was wonderful to see learners dressed in their traditional Indian clothes and with the lifting of restrictions we were able to invite all primary learners to the MPH to participate in some traditional activities. They had the opportunity to learn Bollywood dancing, try foods such as cornflake ladoos, bhell poori, dosas and muruku, design rangolis, paint and decorate diya lamps, create Deepavali cards and lanterns as well as receive a henna design.
Our Deepavali assembly was no less energetic, we heard the story of how Lord Rama and Sita returned home after 14 years in exile, watched our wonderful Bollywood CCA perform and all got up on our feet dancing with the visiting Bhangra dancers. A special thank you needs to go out to our wonderful CAs and Ms Bhavana for all their support in making the day magical. Please take a look at our recent events tab for photos.
As teaching staff we spent time last week collaborating as part of our Professional Learning Day. We continually strive to ensure our staff have access to research-based pedagogy and practice, global experts and up-to-date innovative research so they may continue to deliver the best possible learning opportunities. Our team collaboration builds trust, accountability, confidence and strength. Please take a look at our recent events tab to see what we've been up to.
Continuing on with my theme of trying to make our curriculum, and what happens in school as understood and transparent as possible we will be running a Parent Workshop next week to dive into the use of iPads with learners. To add to this our News from the Year Groups this week is focused on the use of iPads in the learning spaces. If you want to sign up to the Parent Workshop please use the button below or go to our Up and Coming Events page.
Wishing you all a relaxing weekend.
Best wishes
