Dear Parents and Caregivers

I cannot believe how fast the end of Term 1 is approaching. Thank you for your ongoing support as our learners have had the opportunity to participate in many different activities: Cross Country, Bug Busting Day, helping to paint the Formula 1 Design Installation, Climbathon and Global Goals Week, Instrumental Zoo, Year 3 trip to The National Gallery, Singapore National Day Celebrations, Year 1 trip to the Botanic Gardens and next week we will be finishing up with our Parent Teacher Conferences.

All the year groups have also been developing their inquiry skills and focussing on the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme 'Approaches to Learning' and 'Learner Profile Attributes'. We have also taken the time to consider and support our learner's wellbeing.

In this week's News From the Year Groups, the teams explain how Wellbeing is woven through our UOIs and daily lives at Nexus. We have come through the most extraordinary of times and our children have developed skills to cope in a world that we ourselves are unsure of. Even with the opening up of borders and the lifting of restrictions a sense of connection continues to be vital for our children as they relearn and develop social and emotional skills. Please take the time in the up-and-coming holiday to spend time and connect with your child.

Thank you to those of you that attended our recent Mental Wellbeing Parent Workshop to hear from our school counsellors on strategies to help your child cope with challenges. Our counsellors continue to share tips and strategies in every newsletter under the Wellness Tips tab - please do take a look.

Wellbeing links with our Care Mvmt. In last week's assembly our Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 learners shared their ideas on how we can care for others. I've shared the Jamboard below - our littlest learners never fail to speak from the heart and share great ideas. Next term we will invite parents to watch our learner led assemblies.

May I take a moment to remind our families to label all children's belongings... hats, water bottles, lunch boxes, bags, uniform and HPE/swim kits. With over 1200 learners there are lots of children that have the same or similar items and it is easy for them to lose things. If everything is labelled, it makes it much easier for items to be returned to their owners. Please may I also ask families to regularly check at home to see if anything has been taken home in error. If so, please send the items back to school and we will get to return them to the rightful owners.

Thank you again for your positivity and support over the past term, we look forward to seeing you next week for our Parent Teacher Conferences.

Finally, Shana Tova to our Jewish families for Rosh Hashanah this week.

Have a lovely weekend.
