Christmas Fair

What a tremendous success! I wish to thank all guests for coming along and supporting the Fair and the carols performed by our fabulous school musicians, despite the storm of the year hitting the campus precisely at the end of school! Huge congratulations and thanks to our hard-working Christmas Fair Sub-Committee, the NPG Committee and all volunteers, parents, helpers and students. Very special thanks and much love to Vice President Tanu Shukla, who pulled the whole event together from the NPG side! Everyone enjoyed an afternoon and evening of Christmas cheer, highlighting the spirit of our unique school community.

NPG Coffee Morning Workshop, Tuesday, 4 December: Cultivating the Love of Writing in Children

Thank you to Claudine Fernandez, the founder of Artistic Strategies Academy, an educational organisation that aims to groom young writers in Singapore through the arts. Claudine discussed the different creative and artistic methods and strategies to engage young children in the process of writing. She showed that by doing so, they also sharpen their critical thinking skills, their creativity, socio-emotional skills and their reflective abilities. https://www.facebook.com/events/280237855930819/

Yoga 2019:

The NPG is excited to announce our new Yoga classes for Parents. Starting January 2019, the wonderful Lee from Wandering Yogi will teach two classes per week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Classes will run from 8:35am to 9:35am at school. Cost of classes will $20 per session - limited to 10 participants. If you would like to join our class or have more information, please contact Reinet at NPG@nexus.edu.sg.

I’d like to thank Committee Members Mana Yamamoto and Judy Anzai, who will be leaving the NPG Committee to start an exciting new business together. We thank them for the time that they gave to us and wish them all the best with the venture. Stay in contact Mana and Judy!

Myself and the NPG team wishes all families happy holidays and a great New Year! If you are travelling be safe and look after each other. For families leaving the School, always keep in touch and for families returning, we look forward to seeing you in January and at our wide-ranging events next year. If you notice new faces when we are all back at School, let them know about the NPG and walk them over for a visit to the NPG Lounge.

Merry Christmas!

About the NPG:

One of our School’s unique pillars is what many parents and staff describe as a special community spirit.

The NPG serves two purposes within this community - to provide parents with a platform through which to start conversations with, and provide feedback, to the School – to be “a voice of the School community”, and to provide a range of great social, cultural and special interest events. We welcome all volunteers to join our vibrant and diverse committee, with the main aim of maintaining an inclusive NPG where all ideas are considered valuable.

All parents and helpers are welcome in the NPG Lounge at any time. We love seeing you and finding out how your week is going. Please respect the space and ask your child to keep volumes down and tidy up the toys that they use before leaving.
