Absence due to contagious disease

For the safety and wellbeing of all our Nexus families, please do let Student Services know as soon as possible if your child has been diagnosed had an infectious illness. Our staff are on hand to support any children who have been absent and help them settle back to school.

Haze

Our Haze Policy can be found here. We have dedicated areas for learners who wish to be inside during break times during the haze.

Car Park Closed

On Thursday, 3 October the Years 3 to 6 Inter-house Cross Country run will take place at school. As the race will be running through the school car park, access to the school by car will be closed from 8.30am to 10.40am.

All cars should be parked in the school car park by 8.30am. Cars will not be able to leave the school site before 10.40am. Please feel free to come along to support your child/ward and join in the house spirit.

Uniform

The new uniform is looking great! Sagana has now delivered most of the uniforms, including the sizes that were sold out a few weeks ago. Last year’s uniform is still acceptable of course, but it must be complete, not a white Nexus shirt and HPE shorts, etc. Please continue to order new pieces of uniform as your children grow out of the old items.

2020-21 Calendar

The calendar has now been finalised for 2020-2021. As ever, thanks for your feedback when the draft was sent out at the end of last year. The finalised calendar will be added to the school website next term for easy reference.

Annual Satisfaction Survey 2018-19

Many thanks to everyone who completed the annual satisfaction survey at the end of the last academic year. This feedback is so useful as we develop strategic plans. Over the course of this year we will be developing a 5 year plan 2020-25 and will be incorporating your feedback.

For the Parent Survey the following came out very strongly:

How we foster respect for diversity, the financial security of the school and how friendly and helpful support staff are.

The lowest scores were also some of the most improved which included:

Receiving regular updates on your child's progress and meeting your child's needs. Career guidance saw the most significant improvement in Secondary.

The school's expectations for behaviour, friendly and helpful support staff and the advice, guidance and counselling available.

The lowest scores included:

The restrooms, the cafeteria (also most improved) and how we use local language and culture to enrich learning.

It will be interesting to see the results next year when we have amazing new facilities!

We will be in touch in Term 3 with information about the feedback workshops that will also inform the five year plan.
