Whole School Shared Lunch

As a part of their Year 6 RISE challenge, last term some of our Year 6 learners asked for your ideas to celebrate our move to our new school. The most popular idea, was to have a whole school lunch to celebrate the rich and diverse community at our new school. They have asked our fantastic NPG for their help in coordinating this event.

The lunch will be held on Friday, 31 January and we have over one hundred parents supporting us on 22 different stalls, representing nearly 35 countries and cultures for our learners to enjoy. If you would like to help out and have not already come forward, please contact Helle Willumsen of our awesome NPG (npg@nexus.edu.sg) to see how you can get involved.

We will make sure that all Primary learners will have some food to enjoy. Therefore, we suggest that your child does not need to bring packed lunches to school. If your child usually has a pre-paid school meal, you may want to contact Victus to cancel your booking. If your child is a little more selective when choosing food you may still want to provide some food for them as an alternative.

Please note, all Primary learners should bring their snacks as usual.

Secondary learners will be invited to visit the stalls during their usual lunch time. The Victus Level 5 Cafeteria and Eco Cafe will be open as usual.

If guidance from the Singapore Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation with regards to large group gatherings based on the Novel Coronavirus changes in the next few days we will inform the community of the updated arrangements.

Learning Conferences

On Friday, 7 February 2020 the Primary School will be CLOSED to allow for the Primary School Learning Conferences to take place.

Learning Conferences are formal sessions for parents that are, in the main, led by the learners themselves. Our teachers will have guided and prepared your children for this experience. The emphasis is on the discussion between you and your child around their learning journey. Full details will be emailed to you next week. Once you receive this email, you will be able to book your time with your child's homeroom teacher through the Parent Portal. Bookings will close Wednesday, 5 February at noon.

Your child will also share learning in all specialist areas. These areas will be open from 8.15am to 11am and then 2pm to 4pm so you may choose to visit these areas before or after meeting with your child's class teacher. Our massive Primary School Art Exhibition (will runs from Wednesday 5th to Friday 6ht) will also be open throughout the day in the Level 2 Atrium, so do take some time to enjoy the displays.

Please note that the 'full' Learning Conference session takes approximately 60 minutes for each child. Prior to the Learning Conferences, you will find it useful to have read your child’s Semester 1 Learning Summary that was issued in December via the parent portal.

Year 5 and Year 6 Residential Trips

Our Phase 4 residential trips will be taking place shortly. For further information please see the Parental Portal - Trip Information or contact your child's class teacher.

Please note that at this time, based on the guidance of the Singapore Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation with regards to the Novel Coronavirus we intend for these trips to proceed. We are constantly reviewing our risk assessment due to the changing situation we will inform parents immediately if we need to cancel, postpone or make alterations to these trips.
