On Wednesday we celebrated the fantastic creativity of our Year 6 learners. Everyone dressed in their best and the paparazzi took hundreds of photos of our famous directors, actors and producers. Throughout the day, Year 6 visited screenings to watch a selection of the nearly 100 films that were created. In the afternoon, parents joined us online to be part of this special experience.
Then on Friday the whole of the Primary School got in on the action... in place of our usual assembly each classroom became a mini-cinema for the children to enjoy a specially curated collection of films for their Year Group. Everyone even enjoyed mini-tubs of popcorn to add to the experience!
We would like to thank all of the parents who were good sports and got involved in the filming so that our learners could fully realise their creative talents.
You may remember that during our Deepavali celebrations a group of Year 4 learners shared with us the work of the Covid Migrant Support Coalition (CMSC) and we raised money to support them in their work. We received a recent update from the organisation. The learners were featured in their recent newsletter and CMSC shared some of the wonderful activities they were able to provide for the workers due to the support of generous donors, sponsors, and volunteers. This included activities that took them out of the dormitories, such as 'games' days and bus tours of Singapore.
Thank you to our community for supporting our learners to take this action.
On the last day of Term 2, the school was filled with staff and learners in their PJs and Onesies as we raised awareness and money for the Singapore Epilepsy Care Group. Through your generosity, we raised over $1,000 for this fantastic organisation. Thanks to Orla, herself someone who copes with the challenges of epilepsy, for coordinating this event.
Thank you to all our families who donated to the Food Drive as part of our Nexus Adevnt Calendar challenges. Particular thanks to Harry, Max and their mum for coordinating this project. Over the week, Harry and Max collected all our food donations and on the last day of school (still dressed in their PJs) took our donations to the Singapore Food Bank distribution centre.
