Upcoming Events
We would like to invite all parents, guardians and learners to join us on the Nexus Annual Beach Clean Up and International Picnic on Saturday, 5 May 2018. This is a fun event, where our Nexus community comes together to make a difference and help keep Singapore clean and green.
The programme for the morning is:
07.45 am Buses leave Nexus for East Coast Park
08.20 am Arrive at Car Park C1, near Sandbank Restaurant
Welcome and safety briefing, groups given area for clean up
08.30 am Beach Clean Up Starts
10.00 am Freshen Up
10.15 am International Picnic and games
11.15 am Buses start to leave for Nexus
11.45 pm First Bus reaches Nexus
Secondary learners, who have permission, may attend the event without a parent/ guardian present. All primary learners must have a parent or guardian to supervise them during the event. Please bring your own used plastic bags to collect rubbish, supermarket bags are ideal. Tongs and plastic gloves will be provided.
Nexus learners/families are invited to bring bite-sized snacks for the picnic, ready to share with other families. We are looking at adding colour and variety to the early morning breakfast by sharing a range of dishes to reflect our international community. Reminder: No nuts please.
Bus transportation will be provided for the event from and to Nexus, although parents/guardians may arrange their own transport.
Please can all learners wear their Nexus HPE uniforms and IBDP learners their Nexus T-shirts. Please remember to wear suitable footwear and to bring a hat and suncream. As this is an environmental event, please could we also request that each person brings a full reusable water bottle and a plate, knife and fork for each participant.

Year 3 Mini Exhibition
Year 3 Parents are cordially invited to the Year 3 Mini Exhibition in D1 and D2 Pods on Friday, 4 May from 8.45am to 9.45am. The theme of this Unit is 'How the World Works' and the Central idea our Year 3 learners are investigating is 'The Earth is constantly Changing'
Year 4 Mini Exhibition
Year 4 and Year 3 Parents are cordially invited to the Year 4 Mini Exhibition in D2 Pod, also on Friday, 4 May from 8.45am to 9.45am. Year 4 learners are also learning about 'How the World Works' and are focusing on the Central Idea of 'Energy is converted, transformed and controlled to support our needs.'
Year 5 Field Trip
As preparation for the Year 6 PYP Exhibition next year, we have organised a visit to GEMS World Academy on Thursday, 10 May from 10.00am to 12.30pm. Our Year 5 learners will experience the presentation of an end of year PYP Exhibition, the materials used and the variety of ways learning can be presented.
