Set aside time for low-stress activities (drawing, painting, walking in the park)
Demonstrating how you do self-care, let your child know explicitly that you are doing self care (daddy / mommy is now going to do some stretching as it helps me to feel better at the start of my day)
Encourage your child to focus on the moment, to be in the present (ask questions such as, what do you notice in the skies right now? name me 3 blue things you can see in this room now)
Cultivate interest or hobbies
Teach your child different ways to stretch their bodies
If you have any concerns about your child's socio-emotional wellbeing in school, please feel free to get in touch with your child's homeroom tutor who will be able to make a referral to the school's counsellors.
