Next week is Inclusion Week at Nexus. This year our theme will be Identity: What lies beneath the surface.

In order to increase awareness and understanding, which in turn nurtures empathy, we will explore hidden identity traits more closely, engage in deep and meaningful conversations, and take time to reflect. Most events will take place during the school day; however, there are four specific aspects to draw your attention to:

  • There is a special Parent Workshop taking place on Monday with a guest speaker (see below).

  • On Thursday, Secondary learners will enjoy a 'This is me' day when they will be invited to wear colours in recognition of diverse identities.

  • On Friday learners from Y3-6 and Y7-11 will have the opportunity to ask questions to a specially convened panel consisting of representative from varying religions. We have representatives for some religions on this panel; however, we would like some more religions represented. If you would like to join us, please complete this form.

  • On Friday there will be a special viewing of the film 'Wonder', which you'll appreciate is a film about inclusion. This will take place by the swimming pool from 2:45pm. A separate communication will be sent out to invite families to sign up. Primary learners will need to be accompanied by a parent.
