NPG

Spring Festival:

The NPG’s annual Spring Festival held on Saturday, 10 March, in and around the Cafeteria, was a roaring success, attended by over 100 of our Nexus Family. Families enjoyed a picnic-style atmosphere, a savagely competitive Easter Egg hunt and a hugely popular pantomime, hosted by the great team at Evolve Arts – thank you Owen and team! Special thanks and full credit goes to Kelly Payfer for organising a great day. Thanks also to parents who gave their time on a Saturday afternoon to volunteer!

NPG Meeting:

5 April, 8:45am NPG Meeting, NPG Room, all Members welcome.

Whenever possible, NPG meetings occur on the first Thursday morning of the month in the NPG Room. Once again, we warmly welcome our new NPG Committee Secretary, Ms Natasha K Mak-Levrion. Singapore’s leading early years education consultant, Kalli will bring her 17 years of experience with little ones to the table to discuss this fundamental topic. A must for all parents.

10 May, 8:30am Coffee Morning, NPG Room, “Helpers: Getting to Know Them and Their Rights”. Author and Nexus Parent, Karien van Ditzhuijzen. Karien is the editor of the upcoming book "Our Homes, Our Stories: Voices of Migrant Domestic Workers in Singapore" as well as the author of an upcoming novel about a foreign domestic worker in Singapore. Karien will be joined by Kimberly Hoover.

Julius Caesar:

Shakespeare in the Park makes its highly-anticipated return in May 2018 with Julius Caesar. Directed by Guy Unsworth, this production sees Shakespeare’s political thriller brought to life against a backdrop of modern-day international relations and global current affairs. Ambition, power, and greed collide as the leaders of the R.O.M.E 7 countries gather for a summit. Trouble brews as plots to assassinate the ever-ambitious Caesar are hatched. Are Caesar’s conspirators truly doing a righteous deed? Or is chaos and defeat inevitable?

As a supporter of the Singapore Repertory Theatre, the Nexus community is being offered a special 15% discount for the Shakespeare in the Park production of Julius Caesar. We are aiming for a strong sign-up for 4 May show, and we are currently speaking to the SRT in order to be allocated an exclusive area for Nexus parents and staff.
