Nursery have been adding different bits of equipment to their stations. For example using a hula hoop to 'skip' with on the balance beam, or frisbees as racing cars and pulling on a rope while they sit on a scooter to move from one place to another.
Kindergarten have been enjoying learning tag and cooperative games. Above is banana tag, learning about different roles and what they do. We also had fun using scooters together to collect rubbish as the driver and the engine and chickens for our relays!

Year 1 are using the skills they developed during the different units throughout the year, in our final unit adventure challenge and games. Year 2 adventure challenges have developed their communication and cooperation skills. Introducing traditional games and strategies within them. Year 3 have loved the challenges in cooperative games , honing their communication skills, as well as, putting their throwing, catching and moving into space for bench ball. Year 4 have had a balance bonanza, using what they are learning in the classroom about simple machines and applying to gymnastics movements, individual and group balances. Year 5 have added rotation and flight into their gymnastics unit, enjoying the challenge of vaulting. Year 6 are using their critical thinking and communicating through negotiation and compromise to reach consensus to achieve complex challenges.

N - Kindy, year 1
In aquatic based lessons, intermediate group have been practising basic swimming skills such as breaststroke arm action or flutter kicking with a streamlined body. Currently, learners are developing basic front crawl and backstroke skills, using different aids. Learners also practised a land-based warm up routine for swimming.
Learners in the advanced group have been practising front crawl and backstroke skills. In backstroke, they have been encouraged to swim longer distances, whilst maintaining their body position. In the front crawl, children have been working on their side breathing technique. Learners have continued to build water confidence by practising diving for toys in different depths of water and when ready, move to swimming in the big pool. Learners also practised a land-based warm up routine for swimming.
Year 2
In Term 4, learners have been practising stroke foundation drills for backstroke and breaststroke, which will help them to coordinate both arm and leg actions with well timed breathing. Learners have also practised diving from the side of the pool or starting blocks. Currently, they are developing their breaststroke with a focus on coordinated arm and leg actions.
Year 3 to 6
In Swimming, learners have been refining their front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke technique, with an emphasis on developing stroke efficiency and endurance. They have also been introduced to the butterfly stroke, focusing on the undulating kicking action. Learners have been exploring Splash ball games and developed both passing and catching skills while using the eggbeater kick.
