Nexmas Fair returns on the 8th December and is one of the biggest events of the year where parents and the NCG support the school to put on a truly spectacular extravaganza.
This year, you can expect crafting activities, inflatables, a marketplace and a chance to meet Santa, as well as much, much more. We'll also be selling limited edition Christmas baubles which you'll be able to preorder soon!
As well as volunteers, we are also asking you to bring in any donations of good quality books, children's toys, unwanted Halloween candy and party bag toys. We also need lots more cardboard for our elves to create beautiful displays! Please leave all donations in the box outside Learner Services, or bring down to the Parent Lounge.
Primary Production Decoration - to support the learners and staff, the NCG will be helping to decorate the Atrium for the Primary Theatre Production (30th Nov).
Nexmas Fair -
We always need lots of volunteers from face painting (we provide training!), Santa's Grotto, crowd control, food stalls and much much more.
If you are able to help on the day, please join the relevant group in the NCG community or the Parent Volunteers group to get involved. Link at the bottom of the email.
We were thrilled to see over 20 Nexus families join us for the first Beach Clean Up this academic year. Amongst the trash we found were a few odd flip-flops, rope, milk bottles and lots of Styrofoam and polystyrene. It was great to see the Nexus community giving back to the beautiful island we all call home.
14 parents took the short ride over to Pulau Ubin for the day where they cycled around the island, walked the various boardwalks and enjoyed lunch together at one of the island's restaurants. For many of them, it was their first time visiting and the resident monkeys didn't disappoint by making an appearance and coming to say hi, as well as monitor lizards, butterflies galore and lots more wildlife! A huge rainstorm meant the parents stayed at lunch a little longer but that just meant more delicious food got eaten! Thank you to the parents who co-ordinated the day and made sure everyone got on the bumboat home safely!
To celebrate the end of their first term, parents who have been learning Mandarin with Year 1 Parent, CT, all took a trip to the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre and Tanjong Pagar Plaza Hawker Centre. They learned about the different dialects of Chinese in Singapore, some of the festivals that are celebrated here and also about the influence of language on their Kopi orders! The group also put their Mandarin into good use by ordering their brunch in Mandarin! Thank you to CT who has run the sessions and organised the outing for us!
All sessions are hosted in the parent lounge unless otherwise stated. Starting time 8:30-8:45.

Come and join us and create some beautiful harmonies in our Christmas themed Community Choir. No experience is required, just a thirst for singing and having fun whilst making new friends. The project will be 4 sessions run each Wednesday afternoon before school pick up led by Ms Clare Lambert (Head of Secondary Music) and we will aim to perform at the Christmas Fair and Carols by Candlelight Concerts at the end of term.
