Learners have been tasked with creating a museum exhibition for their summative assessment for Unit 4. Together in teams they will choose an aspect of life in Singapore and depict how the personal and cultural identity has been formed by global interactions.
During the field trip, the students will collect evidence of Singapore's personal and cultural identity. They will also analyse the careful decision-making processes behind museum curation to better equip their team to produce a top exhibition!

Day and Date: Monday April 29th
Duration: 8:35am - 2:25pm
Attire: Learners are expected to wear their uniforms or PHE kit and comfortable trainers
F&B: Please bring a water bottle, cap, sunscreen, umbrella, healthy snack, packed lunch (that is easy/quick to eat)
Learners will need to bring their fully charged Apple devices to school on this day.
As part of the Year 9 Community Project some of our learners are raising money for SPCA and SOSD. These are animal shelters in Singapore that care for stray or sick animals.
On Friday 3rd May the Secondary School are invited to wear 'what makes you happy!' this could be your favourite colour, your best bright t-shirt or just a bit of glitter and a crazy pair of socks.
Learners should bring $2 into school and hand this to their tutor.
PLEASE NOTE: The clothes chosen for free dress day should be appropriate for the school environment, so no short shorts or mid-riff on show. If you have a PHE lesson on that day, please bring your PHE kit.

On Monday 6th May , Secondary School learners from Year 7, 8 and 9 will be taking part in the Nexus SwimFest 2024 hosted at the Nexus swimming pool.
All learners have further developed their swim skills throughout the academic year in their aquatic-based lessons. This event will give our learners an opportunity to showcase their skills. The focus of this event will be on participation in a fun and encouraging environment.
Monday 6th May order of events
(Year 7) - 8:40am - 10.40am.
(Year 8) - 11:15am - 1.15pm.
(Year 9) - 1:50pm - 3.25pm (please note that learners will have a shorter lunch from 1.20-1.50pm)
Please also ensure your child brings the following items to school on the day of the Swimfest:
· Suitable swimsuit, swim cap, googles
· Sun block
· An extra healthy snack
· Water bottle
If your child your child is unwell or injured on that day please ensure they have an MC or note from home that can be shown to their PHE teacher.
Both Secondary and Primary music recitals this semester will take place in the Nexus Auditorium on Wednesday 17 May. There will be lower Primary, Upper Primary and Secondary recitals.
The recitals are an opportunity for your child to work towards a performance that will take place in a formal setting. It's a great was to develop your childs instrumental skills as well as providing a performance platform which supports the development of communication and confidence.
This opportunity is open to all Nexus musicians whether you have lessons inside or outside of school. If you are interested to play please email music@nexus.edu.sg
Please ensure with your child's instrumental tutor is aware of the performance so that they can assist to prepare your child ready to perform and feeling confident. We do not require a particular ability and it is open for all ages howeever a polished performance is required.
Once again our Nexus Beats bands will be taking to the stage in another external gig. This will take place on Thursday 30 May at Timbre+ One North after school from 5pm. Following the amazing success of our Blackbird Gig the event promises to be a fantastic get together and celebration of music and performance at Nexus as we edge towards the end of term.
Please pop the date in your diaries and invite family and friends to come along. Timbre+ is a large modern hawker style venue and suitable for everyone.
