Last Friday we collaborated with the local police who came to advise our learners on how to keep themselves safe. They shared advice with the community about the current crime trends including online scams and how to report them. They also shared a useful App called ScamShield and you can find out more here.
Igniting Young Minds: Year 7-9 Science Fair
Our recent Year 7-9 Science Fair was a vibrant hub of learning and innovation! The sports hall buzzed with eager young scientists showcasing captivating displays. These projects overflowed with scientific insight and creativity, a testament to the learners' hard work and exploration.
The fair provided an invaluable platform for our budding researchers to share their findings. Parents, caregivers, educators, and fellow learners all actively engaged with the projects, fostering a dynamic environment of scientific curiosity. While live experiments weren't present at this year's fair, some learners cleverly used videos to bring their investigations to life, adding another dimension to their presentations.
Year 10 and Year 12 Trial examination results are now published and available on the Engage Parent Portal. Please do discuss strengths and areas for development with your child. Please contact their subject teacher for any concerns about individual subjects.
Please make sure you check the examination schedules before booking travel. The IBDP examination schedule is already published for May 2024. The IGCSE schedule has been confirmed IGCSE May-June Exams 2024.
Please note external examinations may fall on public holidays or run in the evening and the school has no control over these dates. External examination dates cannot be rearranged by the school.
Our Secondary learners shed the stigma and learned about healthy periods in a safe and supportive environment.
Teaming up with Singaporean company Blood, our learner council members led an assembly covering everything from period expectations to sustainable product options and top tips for managing this natural bodily function.
The journey began a month prior when our learner council met with Blood to discuss their first collaboration with an external company. Over the following weeks, they gathered insights from secondary female learners about what they would like in the presentation and the preferred delivery methods, and worked with Blood to create the materials for the presentation.
Well done to our learner council for their proactive approach in making this happen and thank you to Blood for generously providing products to all of our secondary female learners.
I am delighted to share that we have the following learners signed up to 'make a bald statement' on Tuesday 14th May by offering to have their head shaved for a great cause. What an incredible act of bravery and charity!
As part of 'Care For Others' week we have 26 shavees in total taking part across the Primary and Secondary Schools.
