Sports Days were a huge success where learners were able to compete in houses to score points and work together as a team. We loved seeing the faces full of fun and enjoyment from our learners as they rotated through the stations on the day. Wet and wild was a new and fun experience for the learners in Year 9 & 10 and we hope to rearrange this same experience for the Year 7 & 8's where possible. Well done everyone!
We enjoyed an awesome event at Blackbird Gillman Barracks on Saturday 2nd March. The venue was rammed with Nexus learners, staff and families as our Nexus Beats musicians took to the stage. A huge congratulations to everyone involved and a huge thank you to everyone that came and supported the event.

On Thursday 14th March our Year 9 learners took a 2 hour deep dive into their MYP Community Projects.
Many are now at the stage of either reflecting on the action they have already taken, or putting their final plans into place. The projects range from helping within the school community to reaching out to local charities to find ways that learners can help raise awareness, or help to support the organisation.
Some learners have really enjoyed their project are are choosing to continue with their voluntary work beyond the scope of the MYP requirements. It has been great to see these authentic experiences genuinely impacting our learners.
Exciting university offers are starting to come through for our Year 13 learners as they prepare for their IB exams. It is normal for some universities to delay making offers until as late as May so please do not worry if your child is still awaiting news. Year 13 learners who will be taking part in National Service next year, as well those who are planning a Gap Year, are required to ask for a minimum of one subject-specific reference and one general reference before they finish up in Term 4. Learners who intend to apply to the US will require two subject-specific references. The aim is to ensure all learners have the required documents for university applications when the time comes.
Meanwhile, the Year 12 learners have been focusing their attention on university destinations around the world. We have explored destinations such as the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Europe and Singapore together on Friday afternoons. Our learners and their families have access to information about how to write college essays, careers data, university research and so much more on our EdTech platform, Unifrog. Unifrog has allowed learners to delve into the world of university admissions and their own independent planning through one system. This is proving to be a great success as almost all the information required to make informed decisions about the next steps after graduation can be found in one place thus saving a lot of time and energy. Please ask your child to invite you to this platform so that you can be a part of their university journey too. Next term, learners will commence 1:1 counsellor meetings where we will work together to create a plan for the coming months in regards to university research and applications.
