We have had a fantastic Book Week, with many wonderful events happening.
We have welcomed several visiting authors including Neil Humphreys, John Patrick Green, Melcolm Mejin, and A J Low.
We've enjoyed our annual Book Fair, engaged in whole school book sharing and celebrated with our book character dress up day.
Thank you for your support - please enjoy these pictures of the week.
This Wednesday, Year 5 were overjoyed to share their scientific inquiries with their families. This was the culmination of our How the World Works unit, where learners inquired into:
The States of Matter
Physical and Chemical change
Designing a fair test, using the scientific method.
Throughout this inquiry learners applied their self-management, research and communication skills. They collaborated with other group members as they: chose their investigation, decided on a variable, organised their procedure, allocated materials to group members, designed their i-Movie and decided on how they would present to families.
It was great to see families excited to participate in the investigations and talk about the results with the learners. Year 5 learners demonstrated their scientific understanding, as they thought deeply about answers to audience questions.
Well done Year 5.
