The Year 8 learners showed their incredible communication skills in their performances of their SLAM poems in class over the last couple of weeks. Each learner researched a global issue, connected to the UN Global Goals, and proved how principled they were in raising awareness of a topic of importance to our world.
The finalists then rewarded and entertained us with their competitive presentations of their poems in a competition last week. They braved an audience, showed us what fabulous risk-takers they were and made us all incredibly proud. Our finalists were: Rania, Alex Z, Gianna, Amari, Josh, Sien, Marine, Nadia, Ruby, Adrienne, Leo B, Felix, Olesya, Ada L, Jett, Phia, Mina, Tanvi, Mary, Sofia, Naveen and Dharren.
However, we had to decide on our winners and the judges, Ms Kate, Ms Melski and Ms Katie, helped us pick a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place - a tough call! Our winners were:
1st place: Mina
2nd place: Sien
3rd place: Leo B
A massive congratulations to all of year 8 for reminding us of what inspiring, creative minds are capable of.
Looking to improve access to resources at local schools
Planning to focus their project on wellbeing
We're excited to share that our Year 9, MYP learners have embarked on a valuable learning journey as they begin their MYP Community Project.
Through collaboration and shared responsibility, learners have begun working in groups to identify community needs to work towards making a positive impact. This project is a vital component of the Middle Years Programme (MYP), fostering a holistic approach to their learning that goes beyond the classroom.
Whilst the project is an assessed requirement of the MYP, the process encourages them to think critically, empathise with others, and actively contribute to the well-being of our society.
As the learners work towards planning their projects, it is exciting to see the potential impact these young minds can have on our community. Whether it's addressing environmental concerns, supporting local charities, or enhancing educational resources, the possibilities are diverse.
Focused on supporting the elderly
Inquiring into gender equality in sport
This MYP learning journey promises not only to broaden their academic horizons but also to instil a sense of responsibility, collaboration and compassion. We look forward to seeing how the learners develop their ideas and support each other, using their interests, skills and talents to connect with a range of communities.
Look out for updates on their progress in the coming months, and let's support these young change-makers as they pave the way for a brighter and more compassionate future.
Our budding Lead Learners have been flexing their film makers skills and asking our community the very important question 'what is a Global Citizen?'
Very soon you will be able to find the answers along with some great explorations of HOW are learners are building Global Citizenship skills within our curriculum and in extra curricular activities.
Zoe, Jake, Mathias, Mary, Kaspar and Lucas have been working on this over the past couple of months and it is now almost complete. They're in the editing stage and we look forward to sharing it with you!

Learners whose first language is not English should purchase a simple translation dictionary in preparation for the exams. The dictionary must not have any definition of the word just a translation. Also, learners will need an appropriate calculator for exams. They should have a calculator already so that they get used to how to use it.
Please make sure you check the examination schedules before booking travel. The IBDP examination schedule is already published for May 2024. The IGCSE schedule should be confirmed in January.
Please note external examinations may fall on public holidays, weekends or run late into the evening and the school has no control over these dates. External examination dates cannot be rearranged by the school.
Internal trial examinations for Year 13 and Year 11 run between January 8th to January 19th.
Internal trial examinations for Year 12 run between 4th and 11th March.
Internal trial examinations for Year 10 run between 2nd and 12th April.
