The academic calendar for 2023/24 is available for viewing on the Parent Zone.
Class groupings and personal timetables for each learner will be available in August.
As a reminder the school day will continue as it has been this year:
8.20am to 3.25pm - Monday to Thursday
8.20am to 2.25pm - Friday
Your child’s Semester 2 Learning Summary has been published. You will be able to view via the Parent Portal on Engage. To access the Parent Portal you will need your unique login and password provided to you by Learner Services.
Please take time to read the information provided on the first two pages as it will help you to better understand the content of the Learning Summary and share its contents with your child.
For learners leaving at the end of this term, do note that you will need to view/download your child's Learning Summary before your Parent Portal account closes.
Please note there will be no access to school systems such as the Parent Portal, Schools Buddy, Hub and Google Classroom from 4 July 2023 until just before the start of the new academic year. This is to allow us to restructure our systems and roll learners and teachers forward to their new classes. If you are leaving Nexus, we wish you farewell and safe travels, and remind you that learner and parent accounts will be closed on the 26 June 2023 - so if you need to download copies of school reports please do so before then.
All leaving learners and parents have been emailed instructions about what to do to extract your work from Google and our other learning systems, but if you have any IT or other systems related questions please email ict@nexus.edu.sg.
For learners, taking part in a residential camp together with their classmates and teachers can be one of the most rewarding and memorable experiences of their time at school, and the memories this produces can last a lifetime. We were proud to be the first International school to restart a residential camp or activity programme back in September 2022 soon after Covid-19 restrictions were lifted. We have since seen first hand the benefits that it has brought out learners, educationally, socially and also in terms of their confidence.
Our Camps and Residential Trips programme exists to challenge learners, to broaden their experience, discover and understand new cultures and, in the later years, to take part in a meaningful service project. Year Group residentials give learners unique opportunities to spend time with their peers and teachers in new situations, as well as to take part in service projects and and expeience new, challenging activities with their peers. For this reason, all learners take part and we do not offer alternative provision at that time.
This academic year we have conducted a full review into the Year Group Trips, and are excited to announce the following trips for 2023-24. Please find the dates and approximate cost below.

We have quite a bit of lost property waiting to be found by its rightful owner!
Water bottles, caps, uniforms, clothes, swim bags, and similar items will be displayed on the level 2 walkway, near the Grand Staircase just outside the Aquatics Gym.
Valuable items (EZ link cards, air pods, jewelry, watches, glasses, calculators, keyboards, to name just a few!) will be kept safe at Learner Services, so if you think your child/ward has lost one of these items please email us at learnerservices@nexus.edu.sg or ask your child/ward to come and take a look.
We hope we can reunite as many items as possible with their rightful owners!
Please note that we will donate to charity anything that hasn’t been claimed.
Thank you for your cooperation!
Warm regards,
Learner Services
As the end of the year is fast approaching, I would like to take this opportunity to wish our recent Year 13 graduates the very best of luck as they await the IB results in July. We are incredibly proud of the many outstanding offers our learners have received and look forward to hearing about their university journeys over the coming months and years.
The Year 12 learners have been busy throughout the year as they began their careers and university planning and research. All learners participated in a number of sessions where they learned about university destinations, admissions requirements, college essay writing as well as other important issues. The resources shared with learners can be found here.
Additionally, many of our Year 12 learners opted into the Year 12 Careers and University Coaching programme where they worked with a trained Nexus coach to help them become more self-directed and informed about their university pathways. This proved to be a wonderful success with many learners sharing that they felt much more confident about their futures as a result of the 1:1 coaching sessions.
Term 4 brought about eight lunchtime workshops where we focused on more university matters in great detail. Learners signed up to workshops that were most relevant to them and a list of workshop topics can be found here:

All Year 12 learners have had the opportunity to attend a 1:1 meeting with me where we set up a to-do list for the summer months. Some items from their summer to-do lists include:
Use Unifrog, our new university platform, as the main resource for university research and planning. Consider taking part in a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Unifrog. These are free of charge and delivered by some of the top universities around the world.
Continue university research and planning using Unifrog.
Draft college application essays including Common App essays, personal statements and motivational letters, as relevant.
US applicants must prioritise booking an SAT test date, if they have not already done so.
I hope everyone has a wonderful summer ahead and I look forward to continuing this university journey with our learners in the next academic year.
