What a wonderful year we have had in Nursery! Not only has our Nursery community grown, but we feel very privileged to have shared the year of growth and learning with our learners and families. Each day in Nursery is full of joy, smiles and laughter. To our families who are leaving the school, we wish you the very best. We look forward to seeing our continuing children’s happy faces on campus again in August. Thank you for being such an amazingly supportive Nursery community. We wish all of our families a safe and restful summer break.
The Nursery Team
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our Kindergarten families, it's been a fabulous year of learning and growth for us all, we couldn't have done it without your support. In the final few days of the school year, we look forward to having families in for a small assembly and Stay and Play in our super learning spaces. We wish you all a happy and safe summer holiday ahead and look forward to seeing our lovely learners moving on to Year 1, they are ready for it.
The Kindergarten Team
Congratulations Year 1 on a fantastic year of learning! We finished on a high this week with our terrific end of year celebration - organised by the learners themselves who decided on the theme, food, decorations and activities. The children also made sure to invite the people in Nexus who have been important to them throughout this year, thanking them for all their efforts. The skills displayed show us just how far the learners have come and how ready for Year 2 they are. We would also like to say a huge thank you to our parents for all their help and support throughout the year. We wouldn’t have seen such great progress made without you! We send our best wishes for the learners who are leaving us and look forward to seeing our returning learners in August. Wishing you all a wonderful holiday.
The Year 1 Team
What an eventful year. This past week we celebrated our final UOI with a gratitude party. The learners thanked the Nexus community for everything they do to help us make Nexus a great place to be. As we bid farewell to some beloved faces we reflect on the experiences we’ve had, guiding and nurturing our learners every step of the way, witnessing their growth and witnessing their potential unfold. It is with immense pride that we wish them a wonderful journey of discovery as they enter Year 3 and beyond. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents, guardians, and the entire school community for your continuous support and collaboration. Your involvement has played a significant role in making this year truly exceptional.
May the upcoming holidays be filled with joy, relaxation, and cherished moments with loved ones. We look forward to reconnecting in the new academic year and embarking on new adventures together. Wishing you all a wonderful summer break.
The Year 2 Team
A bittersweet time has arrived as we come to the end of the Year 3 team of 2022-23. There are a range of emotions swirling around: excitement for the upcoming Summer break, curiosity about what Year 4 has in store, and a touch of sadness as we bid farewell to our friends. The photos below capture moments from the Year 4 transition day, where learners had the opportunity to meet Year 4 teachers and spend a morning in the Year 4 spaces.
The bonds that formed this year between learners and teachers will be long-lasting. Speaking on behalf of all the teachers, we can say that we will cherish seeing our former learners pass by us each morning on their way to Year 4 next year. We hope they remember us, as we will definitely remember them! It has been a true privilege to get to know your children and be a part of this wonderful family community.
We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the commitment and support shown by our Nexus families. We thank you for diligently checking your child's home learning book, sending them to school in fabulous costumes, or even dropping off their swimming gear when they forgot. These seemingly small contributions truly contribute to the smooth functioning of the school. Thank you once again for your ongoing support, and we eagerly look forward to seeing you all again soon!
As the school year draws to a close, we take a moment to reflect. It has been a wonderful year in which we have seen the covid safety measures relax, all our sporting, all our school events return and our community thrive. Our Year 4 learners have been a joy to work with and it has been a pleasure to see them grow in confidence, understanding and maturity over the year. A big 'thank you' to our learners for your enthusiasm, energy, commitment and kindness over the year. You are all ready to move upstairs to Year 5 and we look forward to hearing about your progress next year.
A sincere thank you to our Year 4 Parent and Carers who have been such a great support throughout the year.
To learners who are moving on from Nexus, we thank you for your contribution to our learning community and you friendship. We wish you success and happiness in your next adventure. Do keep in touch.
Finally, the Year 4 team would like to wish everyone a very happy and safe holiday!
Congratulations to our Year 5 learning community on a wonderful year. Our learners have achieved so much! As we reflect on our year for each learner, we acknowledge, appreciate and celebrate individual achievements. Every mistake, goal or challenge has contributed to their own personal journey.
A sincere thank you to our parents and guardians. Your contributions and support throughout the year are greatly appreciated. Our Nexus community benefits greatly from the time and energy that you give.
As we watched our learners - your children, walk down the hallway to Year 6 last Friday... we were a little sad, but also very proud. They are all ready to transition to Year 6 and we know that they will continue to grow and achieve many successes.
To our learners, we will miss you, so please say hello to us next year.
We wish everyone a wonderful holiday break. Be safe and enjoy this time to rest, relax and have fun.
The Year 5 team
What a fantastic year it has been for the Year 6 learners. The oldest primary school year group has shown true leadership this year as we engaged in academic inquiry, went on our residential trip to Loola in Bintan, Indonesia, or completed our PYP culminating Exhibition, among many other events and activities. Just recently our Year 6 learners spent two full days in a series of secondary school transition lessons and team building activities. Learners spoke highly of their experience in those two days. With the beginning of this transition underway, it is now time that we as the Year 6 team step back and let our primary graduates move forward into their secondary school journey.
For those who are continuing at Nexus, we hope to see you in the hallways as you travel to and from your Year 7 lessons. Remember to come and say Hello. To our Year 6 learners who are leaving Nexus and possibly Singapore, we wish you the best in your new school. Take your Year 6 strengths with you. Know we will miss you and it was a pleasure to have had you as part of this amazing year.
Year 7
As we come to the end of a truly remarkable Year 7 at Nexus, it's a joy to reflect on all the incredible moments and achievements we've shared. From our exciting and memorable residential trip to Tioman, where we forged bonds and created friendships, to the outstanding growth we've witnessed in our learners throughout the year, it has been an exceptional journey. Our learners have flourished, developing essential self-management and communication skills that will serve them well in the future. Their dedication and creativity were showcased in their remarkable work, such as designing sustainable toys, creating rainforest-surviving animals, modernizing fairy tales, and crafting captivating game designs as part of their MYP curriculum. The year was filled with memorable events, including the spirited Swim Fest, the Disney-themed Sing Up! Contest, and the collaborative brilliance displayed in the Antigone Drama performance. It has been a year to remember, and we are immensely proud of the growth and accomplishments of all our Year 7 learners. We wish you a restful holiday and every success in Year 8.

Year 8
The idyllic days of Telunas are long behind us and as the sun sets on our Year 8 journey together I hope that the learners can reflect on a year of enjoyable moments, engaging educational experiences and, of course, enduring friendships. With such adventures as designing an F1 car, performing their own slam poetry, curating museum exhibits and even putting their theatrical talents to the test in ‘The Woman in Black’, this year has certainly been a busy one. In addition to their curriculum pursuits, Year 8 learners have been active outside the classroom, from amazing successes with our ACSIS sports teams to Nexus Beats and Bugsy Malone. Often less visible are our budding artists and champion coders who have been honing their impressive skills in CCAs and at every other opportunity. One of the most incredible features of this year group is their support for one another, particularly their enthusiasm for celebrating the successes of others. In addition to demonstrating excellence in numerous areas of Nexus life, Year 8 has not been without a hint of craziness to keep teachers and fellow learners entertained throughout the year! Their creativity knows no bounds and I hope they take this with them as they progress through their education.
To our learners who are leaving, stay in touch with your friends and we hope you look back on your time at Nexus with fond memories. To those who are staying, see you next year for more learning and laughter.
Ms Nicola and the Year 8 Tutor Team.
Year 9
It is that time of the year when we celebrate another cohorts final year of middle school before they enter the IGCSE Programme next academic year. There have been some incredible experiences throughout the year that have shaped our Year 9 journey. From thrilling adventures to outstanding performances, it has been a year filled with growth, camaraderie, and unforgettable memories. One of the highlights was undoubtedly the highly anticipated residential trip to Tioman Island. The pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush tropical landscapes provided the perfect backdrop for an amazing bonding experience. Our Year 9 learners embraced the challenges of outdoor activities, team building exercises, and exploration. A more recent highlight was the showcase of their dramatic flair in their renditions of Romeo and Juliet in Drama. Through their involvement, our Year 9 learners not only honed their acting skills but also learned the importance of collaboration, self-expression, and the power of storytelling. And how could we forget the Community Project (find more information in the 'Recent Events' section), The Rock Band Gig and Sports Days to name just a few. We are immensely proud of each and every one of you. May you carry the lessons and experiences gained during this year with you as you continue to grow and thrive. Goodbye and thank you for all you have done for our community to those of us not returning next year and to the majority of you, have an enjoyable and safe break and we look forward to you doing it all again next year with you as Year 10's. Thank you for a cracking year!
Mr Massey & the Year 9 Tutor Team.
Year 11
Exams are nearly done, all the internal assessments have been uploaded. Can't believe the summer break is just around the corner. As another academic year draws to a close I would like to congratulate all the year 11 cohort on their hard work especially over this final examination period. They have worked hard and can now enjoy a well deserved break. IGCSE results will be available online for learners to access from the middle of August, they have been given the login details.
I look forward to welcoming everyone back for the start of their IB journey.
Mr Sonny & the Y11 Tutor Team
As this school year draws to an end, we reflect on the amazing Year our IBDP cohort has had. As always we had to say goodbye to the graduating class of 2023, they are already missed, and we wish them luck in the next stages of their lives. Graduation evening was a wonderful evening and a fitting way to say goodbye to the 40 amazing graduates. Good luck and stay in touch, if you are in Singapore please stop by to update us on your adventures.
Year 12 have enjoyed a fun pack year as life got back to normal and trips resumed. The CAS service trip to Cambodia was incredible and many teachers and service managers commented on how hard-working, resilient, compassionate and fun the group was, well done to all involved, so much was achieved and many memories were made. I have heard amazing things about the recent Biology/ ESS trip to Malaysia which also seems to have been a massive success. we are all very proud of all the achievements of Year 12 and their huge involvement in the community at Nexus, the recent organisation of the 'Hair for Hope' event is a testament to this. Have a wonderful break and we see you back for your final IBDP Year!!
