New Visions for Public Schools, on behalf of the Astor Center for Public School Libraries, has awarded fourteen grants, totaling nearly $50,000, to promote librarian-teacher collaboration in secondary schools.
For three years, Astor Center has supported school communities and their libraries with grants that integrate the library’s resources into the classroom curriculum, increasing librarian-teacher collaboration.
Grant applicants were asked to address the following topics in their applications:
How the library can support teachers in implementing New Visions full-course high school curricula, free, online resources accessed by thousands of teachers each day (see curriculum.newvisions.org to learn more).
How to promote collaborative work among librarians and classroom teachers; awardee librarians will be expected to collaborate with classroom teachers in the planning, application, and enactment of the proposed grant activity.
How to generate support for students that extends beyond the 2019-20 school year.
