Hello to our new and returning Nighthawk families! My name is Ashley Chaloupka and I am thrilled to welcome you to the first grade team this year.
Born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, I attended The College of William & Mary, majoring in Elementary Education and Hispanic Studies. I was an elementary school teacher in Virginia prior to moving to Colorado in 2009. Since then, I enjoyed many fun years at home with our children before returning to the classroom in 2018. My husband, Jan, is a physics professor at UNC and loves to “watchdog” at NVCS, so be sure to look for him in the hallways! Our daughter Kate (age 12) will also be around a lot as she starts 7th grade at NVCS, and we are excitedly sending our son and former Nighthawk, Cameron (age 14), into his freshman year at Mountain View High School!
Outside of school, I love the ocean, writing, running, and traveling to new places with my family.
I feel so lucky to be with your children this year - I look forward to making first grade a magical adventure for them!
Hello and welcome to First Grade! My name is Lauren Russo and I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year.
I grew up in both Commerce City, CO and Florence, SC. I attended the University of New Mexico and Colorado State University for my Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies, graduating in 2009. I received my Master’s in Elementary Education in 2014. I have been working in education for the past 15 years. Five of those years were spent here at New Vision teaching Kindergarten. This will be my second year teaching First Grade!!
My husband Aaron and I have three children, Conner, Liam and Everly. Both of my boys are here at New Vision in 5th and 2nd grade and my sweet girl is 19 months old. We also have an adorable pup named Luca. Outside of school I love to spend time with my family and friends boating, camping and traveling.
I am so excited to be on the First Grade team and I am so honored to be your child's teacher this year for lots of fun and learning!
Welcome! I am a proud graduate of the University of Northern
Colorado. Raised in Fort Collins, I bring five years of cheer
coaching experience which has helped me develop strong
leadership skills and enthusiasm that I bring to every aspect of
my work. I am continuing my education by pursuing my Master’s
Degree in Teaching Diverse Learners, where I will receive both a
Special Education and a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse
endorsement. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, going to
concerts, and camping. I am very excited to join the incredible
Nighthawk Crew!
