Behavior Expectations

Welcome to QUANTUM = THE HOUSE OF RESPECT

Our classrooms are a positive place to be! We use Love and Logic techniques to help our students find healthy and constructive ways to solve their own problems and have logical consequences when needed. We also use PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports). Every day, students will be given the opportunity to earn paper and digital “crests” for showing Character Counts traits (Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship).  They can then use those crests to “buy” certain experiences in the classroom; reading to the class, sitting wherever they want for the day, etc.  

In Kindergarten, your student learned the importance of being a CARING friend. In 1st grade they will practice modeling RESPECT - respect towards themselves, their teachers, their friends, and their families. In future grades, they will work on the traits of TRUSTWORTHINESS and RESPONSIBILITY. :) 

Our collective goal as a NVCS family is to leave each of our graduates with a deep sense of being rooted in our community. We expect them to take their high level of character into their lives outside of school & do incredible things. :)
