Daily EFFORT Grades
Every time you have art class, you will receive a "Daily Effort Grade", which makes up 30% of your overall art grade.
Art making is a combination of trying new things, failing, and practicing. The cycle of these will help you to develop a skill, just like trying to learn how to play an instrument, or play a sport. How you show up each day, and the effort you put into your work can impact these results.
"Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm." -Winston Churchill
Your Daily Effort Grade is assigned based on a 3-point scale. You can read about each level below:
3 Points - You are on task for all of the class period, invested in your work, giving your best, conducting yourself in an appropriate and safe manner. Meeting all of our class expectations.
2 Points - You are on task for most of the class period, focusing on your work and giving moderate effort, only required a little reminder from the teacher to stay on task, and conducted yourself in an appropriate and safe manner. Meeting most of our class expectations.
1 Point - You were on task for a some of the class period, unfocused on your work, giving minimal effort, required several reminders from the teacher to stay on task, and did not conduct yourself in an appropriate and safe manner. Meeting some of our class expectations.
0 Points - You were not on task for entire class period, unfocused on your work, giving no effort, required constant reminders from the teacher to stay on task, and did not conduct yourself in an appropriate and safe manner. Not meeting any of the class expectations.
Special Note - If you are absent from class, you will receive an 'exempt' mark for that specific calendar day in PowerSchool.
