The Newtown Middle School's National Junior Art Honor Society believes it's important to:
Inspire and recognize students who have shown outstanding ability in art
Foster excellence and dedication to the pursuit of art through service and projects
Further creative abilities & talents of our members to achieve their highest potential
Bring art and aesthetics to the attention of both our school and local communities
This student led society develops and implements visual arts related activities and events for both our school and local community. This is a place for students to learn, grow and cultivate their artistic abilities and talents through projects, acts of service and self-discovery, while building bonds with their peers.
Student members receive opportunities for national recognition, leadership experience and connectivity to over 50,000 students world wide. Additionally, they have access to:

All members of our NMS NJAHS chapter are expected to meet the following criteria to maintain an active membership:
Actively participate in all chapter events/programs in some capacity
Pay a 1-time annual due of $30 for membership fees and related chapter activities/events
Attend a minimum of 15 meetings per school year
Meet student expectations as outlined in the NMS Student Handbook
Our NMS NJAHS is governed by the National Art Educators Association [NAEA] NJAHS Constitution and our local chapter Bylaws.

All prospective members who are accepted MUST turn in their dues by the end of our first meeting date.
